Auto Hauler Exchange

Auto Hauler Exchange is a private marketplace platform where dealers can connect directly with thousands of highly vetted carriers ready to move their vehicles. Dealers post their loads on to the Exchange at the rates they choose, and carriers get 100% of that posted rate – no hidden broker markup. We are enabling more efficient communication between dealers and carriers which results in cheaper, faster deliveries.

Auto Hauler Exchange vets both the shippers and the carriers in the marketplace. We have a stringent vetting process for carriers – we reject over 33% of the carriers who try to join AHX – and continuously monitor insurance and authority scores. Unlike load boards, we don't allow brokers on our platform.

No - carriers can book directly on the Exchange as soon as the vehicle is posted. You do not have to vet the carriers yourself or evaluate bids. You should not be receiving phone calls from carriers with bids.

To maintain a trusted and efficient network, all carriers must meet the following requirements to be approved on the platform:

Proof of Insurance - We require the following insurance coverage documents:

$1,000,000 in auto insurance
$100,000 in cargo insurance

Authority - We require your authority to be at least 6 months old and in “good standing.” “Good Standing” means that the carrier’s authority is active and you have no active identity alerts or negative safety ratings.

Please note that both of these are proprietary to Highway, the carrier vetting software used by Auto Hauler Exchange. Highway has their own formula for establishing if a carrier has an alert on their account.

Tracking - A tracking method is required on the Exchange.

Interstate Carrier Requirements:
- Must have a DOT number
- Must have an MC number
- Must have an operating status authorized for property
- Must have active interstate authority for property
- Must not have any active out of service orders
- If rated, must have a satisfactory safety rating
- Must have a Safer operating status of active
- Must not have any published Identity Alerts
- Must have at least 180 days of continuous authority
- Must have a minimum BIPD coverage of $1,000,000 USD
- Must have a minimum cargo coverage of $100,000 USD
- Intrastate Carrier Requirements
- Must have a DOT number
- Must not have any active out of service orders
- If rated, must have a satisfactory safety rating
- Must have a Safer operating status of active
- Must not have any published Identity Alerts
- Must have minimum BIPD coverage of $1,000,000
- Must have minimum cargo coverage of $100,000

An MC number is only needed for intrastate carriers if their specific state requires it.
